Highly recommended. Many times I get contracts that were signed by my buyers, prepared by realtors, and they say it was a standard contract. But I find a lot of mistakes that I have to work around when that occurs. Think of a contract like a race. It's the blueprint. The starting point is the effective date. The finish line is the closing date. In between, you have important things that need to occur, like mortgage approval dates. You could lose your deposit if you don't timely notify your seller that you didn't get your mortgage in time. We don't want that to happen. Also, the inspections. A lot of times, you do timely inspections, you can get concessions if there's problems with the property. I highly recommend that an attorney review a contract as part of putting it together and signing it.
